Paris was not what I expected….

We arrived in Paris on the 3rd of December after multiple train rides that took around 7 hours. The train systems are so easy to use and this was something i was very nervous about but I have to be honest it is very relaxing watching the scenery fly past.

We stepped off our train at 4:00pm and had to meet our group at 6:00pm for an amazing night ahead. The traffic was horrendous and our taxi driver just dropped us off in the middle of all these people and had to try and find our hotel while lugging around our luggage, we defiantly looked like tourists. We were staying at the Citadines Les Halles which was $245.00 for the night but the location was so convenient and it was a small apartment style room with a little kitchen.

We quickly got our shit together, i put on some new clothes, fresh make up and we were out the door.

Firstly we had a dinner cruise on the Seine River where you were seated by yourself with your partner/family so you had privacy. I honestly thought we would hop on a fairly average boat to have a normal dinner but I was defiantly wrong about that. The boat was amazing with glass all around so you could see all the sights while having your dinner. The waiters were attentive and impeciably dressed. The river cruise was about and hour and a half which was perfect, seeing everything at night was just that little bit more magical.

We then moved on to the Eiffel Tower, we decided to go to the highest floor which you had to wait in line for on the 2nd floor for about 30 minutes in the freezing cold because it was so windy up there. Once we got up there we had a quick look and went back down, it was way too cold. I enjoyed looking at the Eiffel Tower from afar rather going up it as I feel the beauty in it for me is the way it looks. We were given around an hour and a half which was perfect, however i feel like in peak season you may be rushed and unable to go up to the highest level in that time due to wait times.

It was about 11:00pm when we set off for the Moulin Rouge, I was so cold that when I got into the bus I just fell asleep. I was still feeling jet lagged and we had not stopped since we landed in Europe, it all started to catch up on me so I had a little nap which reset the batteries! We had a bottle of Champagne and sat with two lovely couples, one couple were from San Fransisco which the guy was very successful and did frequent trips to Europe for Business. They love kite surfing and are actually coming to Perth as they had heard its one of the best places to Kite Surf, I also recommended that they scoot on up to Geraldton (my home town) as I’ve heard it is also great for Kite surfing. The night was full of amazing costumes and enough boobs to last you a life time haha! It went from 11:30pm to 1:30am, once it finished I had quiet a lot of energy and I could of almost explored the nightlife but I knew we had a big day ahead as we were setting off to Disneyland for three nights. So I saved my energy and went home and literally fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow.

I booked our tour through Viator and it cost us $750.00 for two people, it may sounds steep but we had such a lovely experience and it was relaxing knowing that you didn’t need to organise to get around to each activity.

We did a small amount of exploring the next day in Paris but we did have limited time. Originally Paris was somewhere I was not looking forward to due to the attacks that had happened over the past year but as soon as I got there I felt so relaxed, the vibe in Paris is just amazing. The buildings are just so elegant, especially the ones we passed on our river cruise. I really did fall in love with Paris and next time I will defiantly stay for longer.

Next stop, Paris Disneyland! A dream come true…..

View from our hotel the next morning.

Zermatt – My Favourite Place On Earth

We set a flight on airline Alitalia from Rome to Zermatt, Switzerland on the 1st of December, which we had to also take two trains  to reach our final destination. All of this travelling kept me in such suspense of what was awaiting behind the snow capped mountains. The train rides were so beautiful i literally stared out the window the entire time, it was breathtaking! When we arrived this small little ski town exceeded my expectations from the moment i step up on their beautiful little streets (which do not have cars).

We arrived at dusk after a 8 hour day of travelling to walk down a beautifully lit street with christmas lights covering the wooden/log style chalets. I felt like i had just stepped into a Christmas Village, I was instantly in love and I knew from that moment I wouldn’t want to leave after the two nights that awaited us. We took a five minute stroll to our hotel from the train station and we were warmly welcomed by the owner; Boris of our Hotel Walliserhof Zermatt 1896, which as you may have guessed has been running since 1896 as a family owned business. Little did we know the place finished renovating and re-opened that exact day that we set foot into this beautiful hotel! Our room was decently sized and which there was not many rooms which gave it that quaint vibe about the whole place.  http://www.walliserhof-zermatt.ch,

Eating in Switzerland

Each morning you would come down to the restaurant area and spread out would be freshly baked bread, homemade jams, egg and bacon freshly cooked and even a waffle maker to make fresh waffles! It honestly was the best hotel breakfast and I wouldn’t of asked for anything better.

At night the Restaurant, Theodors Stuba opened at 6:00pm which had some swiss traditional dishes which we had to try. We had a meat fondue which consisted of thinly sliced pork, veal and beef which you use fondue forks to dip into boiling hot water that cooks your meat and once your meat is cooked you dip the meat into a range of sauces and condiments to try all the different flavours. Also on a seperate night we  tried out the classic cheese fondue which was to die for!!

Skiing

We hadn’t originally planned to go skiing due to the cost but once we got into the small ski village we decided that we didn’t want to pass up the opportunity to ski on one of the most beautiful places in the world. The skiing for both Justin and myself for the day totalled around $700.00 with ski and clothing hire as well as a personal instructor for three hours! The Matterhorn was more mesmerising than I would have ever thought. At least i had an amazing view while I made a fool of myself learning how to ski with our instructor which he kept calling me princess haha ( I wasn’t that bad). I soon got the hang of it and we took a few videos and photos to remember one of the most incredible days! We followed our ski day with a hot chocolate at a beautiful cafe on the main street and did some shopping for some Christmas decorations. Overall the experience was well worth every dollar (AUD) spent.

Overall our trip to Zermatt was worth the long train rides and all the money spent! The accomodation set us back $437.00 for two nights, i would highly recommend giving this place a visit but please be aware this little town is not cheap but you will walk away with the most beautiful memories as well as meeting some of the most friendliest people!

Where have you travelled in Switzerland?

Next stop Paris! Stay tuned,

When In Rome….

The holiday has finally arrived!

before-the-flight

After 20 plus hours of travelling we arrived in Rome at 1:00pm on Tuesday the 29th. We paid for a transfer from the airport to the hotel to save us the stress of organising a taxi. My first impression was that every single building/house was so old and that they had beautiful trees, it was slightly disturbing the first time I saw an army officer holding a gun as big as me as it’s certainly something we don’t see in Australia (thank god).

Our accomodation of choice was the Starhotels Metropole which I was happy with the service and pricing. The hotel was $362.00 for two nights with breakfast included, which i was very impressed with. There was also plenty of eateries so you could just step out and get a bite to eat after a long day of exploring! The first night we went to this cute family run restaurant and I must say Justin had the most amazing Lasagne.

Since arriving we have come into the best of luck with weather, crisp mornings with sunny days which makes for great exploring weather so we decided to use our Hop On Hop Off bus tickets to see Rome as a whole. The monuments are just breathe taking, it’s nothing you can ever imagine especially when you come from Australia where there is nothing that old.

When in Rome our main highlights that we saw were The Colosseum and The Vatican. For these two tours we did private tours so we were one on one with our guide. They both went for 3 hours each and they were very informative. These tours were booked through https://darkrome.com. As these were one on one tours we paid about $800.00 but we do not regret them and would defiantly recommend this company!

We obviously saw quiet a few other historic buildings but these two were defiantly the most breathtaking! However the one thing i was most excited for was to see Rome dressed up for the festive season and the pizza…. however from my experience both of these did disappoint but you take the good with the bad, not everything can be perfect!

My overall feel of Rome was that it was defiantly beautiful but I constantly had a very unsafe vibe about it, I don’t know if this was because it was our first stop and I may have been home sick without knowing it or the fact that I found most people I came across very rude. I am unsure of if I will explore Rome again but regardless I am glad that I got a small snapshot of this historic city! If you have travelled to rome, how did you like it?

Our next destination that I will be writing about will be Zermatt, Switzerland.

Stay Tuned,

A Very Lush Christmas

Well hasn’t it been a while since i last typed away…..

I hope you have been well and getting into the Christmas spirit just as I am.

It has been so hard not to go and buy everything in the shops right now, once the decorations hit the stores I am like a marketers dream. The vibe just pulls me in BUT I have to admit i have been really good. A couple of Santa mugs and most importantly a few recent Lush purchases!

I love Lush all year round but I have to admit I get particularly drawn in when they have their seasonal products because one; they are extremely cute and two; they always have my favourite scents. Unfortunately though I find baths are not as tempting in Australia around this time of the year as I like my baths warm and I literally boil as soon as I lay in the bath, so i tend to use my products very slowly.

These are my top three that i have picked up this year.

The Magic of Christmas Reusable Bubble Bar – A spicy, sparkly golden wand placed on a cinnamon stick with a cute red bow and bell. Place under the running tap to create a sea of amazing cinnamony smelling bubbles! The best part is that you get multiple uses out of it, so it is well worth the price!

Peeping Santa Bubble Bar – I literally can’t explain how good this smells! I was running a bath for my nieces and as I was crumbling this under the running water my hands became like silk from the shea butter.  So go ahead and create a sack full of bubbles with the ultimate Christmas bubble bar.

Father Christmas Bath Bomb – Santa’s cute little carved face was the reason i bought this bath bomb two years ago and has been a favourite of mine since. Your bath will turn into a vibrant Christmas tree green as it fizzes around your bath. This was my nieces favourite, she demanded she wanted one for christmas and i defiantly won’t say no to taking another trip to lush for her (and maybe for myself).

I also bought the Christmas Penguin and Butter Bear. Unfortunately there were a few others that I wanted to try out but they were out of stock. I may buy them over in the UK so that i can relax after a chilly day of exploring.

On that note, I am intending to write a blog on each city we visit which is now only 8 days to go!!

I hope you all have a very Lush Christmas….

My Lip Injections Experience

Anyone who knows me well is aware that I am onboard for cosmetic surgery and enhancements. I think its great that we can play with the way we look and most things are not permanent which is great. This is my experience…

At the start of the year I decided to get lip fillers as I found whenever i smiled my top lip almost disappeared. So I did some research and had heard amazing reviews about Bramis! On the day of my appointment I was understandably nervous, I do not like needles and I also hate the feeling of being numb! When I arrived I immediately felt comfortable, the lady doing my procedure knew exactly what i wanted without me even having to say so. The two things I wanted to achieve were to give the impression that my mouth was narrower and the top lip with a bit more volume as well as evening out the bottom lip with the top lip. After our consultation we decided to only go with 0.5ml as I did not want it to be overly noticeable.

Firstly my lips were numbed with a special cream. We then started to put the injections into several areas of the bottom and top lips, I could not feel a thing. The only time i felt a tiny pinch was when the middle of the lip was being done as this is apparently the most sensitive area. I swear it was over within a couple of minutes! It was then that I was given her Facebook page to send through photos of my progress or any concerns which I thought was absolutely amazing service! Obviously your lips are swollen so they do look bigger then they actually are (which I liked) and the numbing wore off after 45 minutes. I had minimal bruising only in two spots which was surprising as I have very sensitive skin. I was instructed to massage the lips to break down the filler so they looked more natural and so the filler settled in better ( as far as I can remember). The areas in which the filler goes in does become lumpy as that is where the needle is inserted, that did freak me out for a little bit as it gives you the impression your lips are lumpy but that subsided after a couple of days.

After a few days and the swelling surpassed I noticed that there was a ridge on my top lip, I contacted my consultant and she advised me to come in and get a top up. This was something I was explained in my initial consult and has nothing to do with the person injecting as it is just the way my lips are, in your appointment they can only do so much as you can actually overfill the lips and that can cause issues.

After visiting the second time and having a small amount of filler injected into the problem area they were perfect!!! I felt they were so natural and I am so pleased with how long they have lasted. I am going back in the future to get a top up as the filler received is only suppose to last around 6 months but it is all depending on your body at the end of the day, I think your metabolism plays apart in this? I’m not entirely sure though. The 0.5ml cost me $250.00 and a ml was about $450.00. Overall my experience was amazing and it did not hurt one bit. The only thing I must say is when looking at getting enhancements of any kind please make sure that you are mentally ready and that you are doing these things for yourself (at the end of the day though you can do it for whatever reason you like, it’s your life after all!) as if your doing something for someone else that doesn’t like/love you for the way you are then they are so not worth it and you can go out and find someone who values you without that stuff!! Never feel pressured to change the way you look because of someone else! Do it for you and remember you are still beautiful with or without it!

P.S Here are some photos,I was silly and never took before and afters but I have a few selfies that show the difference. The quality of these photos are shocking! If you want to see more photos head over to sharneh93 on Instagram.
